Make a Difference Planet…People…Football

Who We Are

Kits for the World is a registered Dutch public‑benefit charity (ANBI) founded in 2010. And Is also a member of the UN Football for the Goals

Kits for the World

We collect surplus or unused football kits and boots from clubs, manufacturers, retailers and individuals and channel them free of charge to community programmes around the world that use football as a tool for social change

Over the decades, advancements in design, materials, and branding have transformed these items into high production/ overproduction of items which get destroyed or sent to landfill.

We believe in three things: Planet–People–Football.

Planet: extending the life of sportswear, reducing waste, promoting circular economy in football apparel.

People: empowering children and young adults in underserved communities to engage, learn, belong.

Football: leveraging the power of the game to connect, motivate and change lives.

Our Vision

To supply community projects and charities with the basic football kit items that will help motivate disadvantaged communities to take part in these projects. And take the burden of cost of football kits away from NGO’s and charities.

In short: When a child or young adult receives a shirt and boots, they see themselves as part of something — belonging, possibility, team

Our Mission

To reuse first… then up‑cycle and recycle football kits, and in all parts of our collection and distribution process be as sustainable as possible.

Our Objectives

We partner with NGOs whose programmes align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) especially around health (SDG 3), education (SDG 4), gender equality (SDG 5), responsible consumption & production (SDG 12) and climate action (SDG 13) and other key SDG goals.

  • Collect high‑quality football kits and boots that are surplus, unused or about to be retired, and give them a second life.
  • Ensure donated kits go to projects with proven track records in social development and football‑for‑good.
  • Encourage partner organisations to set up kit‑lending libraries so that donated kits are reused locally many times maximising social and environmental value.
  • Minimise environmental impact of logistics (e.g., if possible offset transport emissions via tree‑planting, support circular economy).
  • Amplify brand and partner impact: offering companies, clubs and brands a meaningful way to align with CSR, sustainability and global community uplift.

Real Human Impact

When you sponsor a collection of kits or make a financial donation, you’re helping drive programmes where young people:

  • Gain confidence, team spirit and self‑esteem through our partner programs using sports
  • Access education, life skills, health awareness through football‑based initiatives;
  • Feel included, valued and part of a community they may have felt excluded from.
    “Many of the children have nothing but the clothes they wear, so giving them a football shirt is a big deal … a catalyst for change.”

Sustainability & Circularity

Football apparel is often produced at high environmental cost. Rather than letting unused kits go to landfill, we channel them into underserved communities. We invite partner NGOs to reuse kits multiple times, extending life‑cycle and reducing waste.

For your organisation, this means a strong alignment with SDG 12 (Responsible consumption & production) and SDG 13 (Climate action)  valuable for ESG and brand‑purpose storytelling.

Amplified Brand Value & CSR Alignment

Whether you’re a club, sporting brand, corporate partner or logistics provider — you can:

  • Demonstrate tangible support for global development and grassroots sport;
  • Engage employees, customers or fans via kit‑drive campaigns;
  • Showcase your commitment to sustainability, inclusion and global citizenship.

Our donation model supports tax‑deductibility (in many cases) and CSR frameworks.

Key Themes

Why Your Support Matters

We’ve supported NGO partners all over the world where kit donations were used as an incentive for youth living in high‑HIV‑prevalence communities engaging in life‑skills, health and sport‑programm. We have embedded sustainability practices: e.g., prioritising reuse, encouraging kit‑lending libraries and when possible offsetting transport impact via tree‑planting

  • Without basic sportswear, many children in resource challenged settings miss the simple joy of team sport, the identity, confidence and opportunity that comes with it.

  • Many NGOs spend precious resources buying kits and inavaterly adding to the environmental impact of kit production…when those funds could go into coaching, education or health programmes. Your sponsorship frees up capacity

  • By linking up with or partner projects that use Sport as a universal language especially football… which helps to break down cultural, gender, socio‑economic barriers. By putting a kit in a young person’s hands, you’re not just giving a shirt you’re unlocking belonging, aspiration, community

  • In a world facing environmental crisis, waste reduction matters. We combine social and environmental purpose: every kit reused is both a social asset and a waste‑avoidance action

  • Sport is a universal language especially football that can break down cultural, gender, socio‑economic barriers. By putting a kit in a young person’s hands, you’re not just giving a shirt you’re unlocking belonging, aspiration, community.
