Stats from the logistics challenge
Football for hope centre
Kick 4 Life was one of our first football kit donation destinations which was part of the ’20 Centres for 2010′, FIFA’s 2010 World Cup legacy initiative. Kits for the World provided football kits to be used by the hope centre to help aid and engage the youth of the district to take part in the Kick 4 Life programs.
Lesotho has the world’s second highest HIV prevalence rate for persons living with HIV, with 25% of the overall population infected. Those who are impacted are offered hope and support by Kick 4 Life.
The Kick 4 Life Academy uses football to leverage significant long-term academic investment in Lesotho, supporting participants to become future leaders and positive change-makers across areas such as development, academia, civic society, business, health and the environment.
The goal of Kits for the World
Was to find out the target age group of the participants at the Kick 4 life programs to supply full kits including football boots.
We believe in the power of football and something as little as a football kit can have an impact and helping NGO’s offset the cost.
We believe that through football and being part of a team, a kit can help soften perceptions and misconceptions with combined quality education and support.

Sustainable Development Goals
Kick 4 Life are aligned with three priority Sustainable Development Goals – 3: Good Health & Wellbeing, 4: Quality Education and 5: Gender Equality.
Many of the children have nothing but the clothes they wear, so giving them a football shirt is a big deal, but it also acts as an incentive to get and stay involved with our activities which have the potential to change their lives for the long-term. Many thanks to KiTs for the World and to all the clubs who donated the kits – your efforts are hugely appreciated and are making a real difference”.
Kits for the World sdg 13 Commitment to offset a kit donation
Wherever trees are established, wildlife and other plants are sure to follow, ensuring a healthier ecosystem. Trees provide shelter and food for a variety of birds and small animals. Attracting pollinators which in turn help with vegetable and plant growth used not just for food but also for medicines.
Trees are sometimes called the lungs of the Earth because they absorb pollutants through their leaves. Trees improve water quality, and reduce flooding and erosion.
Trees temper climate. Trees lower air temperatures and humidity; they can also influence wind speed. Evaporation of water from trees, or transpiration, has a cooling effect.
Kits for the World
Kits for the World is committed to help fighting the issue of climate change. To this end not only do we reuse and recycle football kits. We also look for the most sustainable way to transport football kits to our partner projects.
To offset this transaction we also are also looking to partner with charities that can help re-green planting trees and forests which play a crucial role in combating climate change and loss of biodiversity.
Kits for the world are also looking to partner with companies of electric vans to help assist in local collections of kit donations.
