ABOUT Craig Bellamy FOUNDATION
CBF runs Sierra Leone’s only national youth football league, as well as the country’s first professional academy. The league uses football to incentivise attendance at school, participation in youth-led community development projects & adherence to the rules of fair-play for nearly 2000 boys & girls.
The Craig Bellamy Foundation was created in 2008 to offer underprivileged children the chance to reach their true potential. The Foundation runs a non-profit professional football academy and also a national youth league that uses football to tackle the country’s key development priorities – education, health, youth exclusion and gender inequality.
Our Academy nurtures the athletic, academic and personal development of the country’s most promising sporting talent, securing them footballing and education placements oversees. Five year scholarships are awarded to children aged 11 to 13 following an extensive annual nationwide scouting process

1000 euros raised

CRAIG BELLAMY FOUNDATION
KiTs for the World raised 1000 euros and awareness for the Craig Bellamy Foundation. The Foundation was set up by Premier League striker Craig Bellamy to help children in Sierra Leone through football and education and partnered with Dutch charity KiTs for the World to raise funds.
Both charities hope to promote education, discourage violence and help develop communities in Africa through football and Netherlands based Kits for the World held a raffle to raise funds and engage people at the event about the Craig Bellamy Foundation and it hopes and goals for the future.

Involving over 2000 children – boys and girls – in 100 teams at the under-12 and under-14 age groups, the League covers the country’s four regions Freetown, Makeni, Bo and Kenema
The League was shortlisted for a Beyond Sport Award 2012, in the Sport for Education category. Held annually, the awards recognise the use of sport as a tool for positive change across the world
The goal of Kits for the World
Organised a fundraiser for the CBF foundation. Clubs and local companies donated items to help with the fundraiser. This included An iPad 2, donated by Dutch company xando.
An Arsenal shirt from Arsenal’s from 2003/4 The Invincible season signed by Thierry Henry.
A signed Liverpool FC shirt signed by Craig Bellamy and all his Premier League team mates. Yaya Toure’s Manchester City shirt signed by Toure and his team mates.
As well as a Shirt from FC ZWOLLE signed by all the first team.
Run by the Kits for the World fundraising team at an international football tournament in which youngsters from all over Europe took part in the two day event.

The Craig Bellamy Foundation where are aligned with three priority Sustainable Development Goals – 3: Good Health & Wellbeing, 4: Quality Education and 5: Gender Equality.

When clubs donate kits to Kits for the World we sort and process the kits ready for distribution.
Before we accept a kit donation we make sure the kits are viable to be included in our re-use re-cycle process. We also invite clubs to help in our fundraising objectives.
