ABOUT Craig Bellamy FOUNDATION
CBF runs Sierra Leone’s only national youth football league, as well as the country’s first professional academy. The league uses football to incentivise attendance at school, participation in youth-led community development projects & adherence to the rules of fair-play for nearly 2000 boys & girls.
The Craig Bellamy Foundation was created in 2008 to offer underprivileged children the chance to reach their true potential. The Foundation runs a non-profit professional football academy and also a national youth league that uses football to tackle the country’s key development priorities – education, health, youth exclusion and gender inequality.
Our Academy nurtures the athletic, academic and personal development of the country’s most promising sporting talent, securing them footballing and education placements oversees. Five year scholarships are awarded to children aged 11 to 13 following an extensive annual nationwide scouting process
