ABOUT Kits for the World’s sustainability objectives
Back in 2010 the concept of Kits for the World was born. The concept of Kits for the World has grown with local grassroots clubs and some forward thinking professional clubs. They all could see the value of helping the projects we support with football kit donations.
Our objectives when we give a football kit donation to a project MUST fit within the sustainability development goals across the range of key objectives. These objectives range from the 17 interlinked global goals designed to be the foundation on which to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all.
Kits for the World also plays a part in the interlinked global goals. Firstly by one of our core objectives namely playing a part in the post-consumer garment collection, reuse, and recycling is a critical component of a circular economy plan.
Secondly as from 2022 we are actively looking to plant a kits for the world kit donation tree at the clubs who donate to kits for the world. This helps to offset our logistical impact.
We are also actively looking for international partners who are active in the regions where we send our donated kits to who plant trees.
Moving forward It is our intention that new NGO’s who are part of the kits for the world network incorporate an educational fact pack to raise awareness of the benefits of planting a tree locally.

Biodiversity
Wherever trees are established, wildlife and other plants are sure to follow, ensuring a healthier ecosystem. Trees provide shelter and food for a variety of birds and small animals. Attracting pollinators which in turn help with vegetable and plant growth used not just for food but also for medicines.
Climate
Trees are sometimes called the lungs of the Earth because they absorb pollutants through their leaves. Trees improve water quality, and reduce flooding and erosion.
Trees temper climate. Trees lower air temperatures and humidity; they can also influence wind speed. Evaporation of water from trees, or transpiration, has a cooling effect.
Kits for the World
Kits for the World is committed to help fighting the issue of climate change. To this end not only do we reuse and recycle football kits. We also look for the most sustainable way to transport football kits to our partner projects.
To offset this transaction we also are also looking to partner with charities that can help re-green planting trees and forests which play a crucial role in combating climate change and loss of biodiversity.
Kits for the world are also looking to partner with companies of electric vans to help assist in local collections of kit donations.

Reuse by a new consumer is environmentally the most favourable route for donated football kits. Kits for the World ensures top quality items for the projects we donate kits. Sorted into age groups that are relevant to the needs of the project.
When you out grow your football kit donate it to K4TW. Retailers can also help the cause with stock that is no longer wanted.

Kits for the World’s goals is to support projects that really have a big impact at a local community level. The projects we support use football to engage specific key groups from communities that face challenging circumstances. These projects/ NGO’s have a strong record of helping inspire local change.
