ABOUT Play Soccer
Youth unemployment is a big issue in some parts of Ghana, exacerbated by the country’s expanding wealth disparities. This has resulted in lower food security and increased levels of teenage criminality in certain areas.
Play Soccer Ghana assists children and young people in 11 different places in Ghana each year through its varied programmes. It also serves as a social clinic for the parents of the participants, instructing them on how to best assist their children.
Play Soccer also offers worldwide leadership for the annual Global Peace Games for Children and Youth, as well as various events and communication exchanges to promote cultural understanding, global friendship, and gender equality.
As well as building physical fitness and well-being, young people learn values and skills like fair play, gender equality and peaceful conflict resolution.
Each session encourages children to put these new skills and knowledge into practice on the playing field and in their daily lives.
